TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Council of Labor Affairs reminds the public that in its guidelines effective from March 7 this year, employers may only hire up to 20% of its work force as foreign laborers. The guidelines do not apply to those in what is known as the 3K industries, or hard, dirty, and dangerous jobs. The term 3K was coined in Japan (Kitsui, Kitanai, and Kiken).

The CLA will begin its inspections on employers who have hired foreign laborers in August.
