1. We Condemn WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyseus’ Groundless False Accusation about Taiwan
WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyseus has failed to respond the coronavirus pandemic due to his over-reliance on the information provided and the stance taken by China. That is why Japanese Vice Prime Minister Tarō Asō called WHO as CHO; that is why the United States President Donald Trump strongly lashed out WHO and threatened to withhold its funding. However, Director General Tedros shirks responsibility by falsely accusing that Taiwanese people had racial hate speech against him. Director General Tedros’ claim is groundless and irresponsible, his approach exactly echoes with Chinese government’s perspective, raising the serious concern of his independency as a key personnel of an international organisation.
2. Taiwan Has Done Well in Coping with Wuhan Coronavirus Pandemic and Has Received Considerable Recognition from the world.
As a Non-Governmental Organization in Taiwan, we support Taiwan government ’s diligent effort in coping with the pandemic as well as its earnest contribution to the international society.
We urge: WHO Director General Tedros should perform his duty on promoting human health, and immediately apologize to Taiwan; further, WHO should recognize Taiwan ’s tremendous effort in responding Wuhan Coronavirus pandemic.
Taiwan can help, Taiwan is helping.
